Flops of 2010
The year 2010 may be marked down for outstanding movies like Rajneeti and My Name is Khan to talk about a few, but along with some really good films came the bad ones. Here's a look at the flops of 2010...It was the most-awaited film of year 2010 and as expected Mani Ratnam's much-talked about Ash-Abhi starrer bilingual Raavan opened to a great response. The film, which was seen as the modern day adaptation of The Ramayan bombed at the box office because of its weak script.Touted as the most expensive film in Indian cinema, Hrithik Roshan-Barbara Mori starrer Kites was a major flop. Thought the movie got a great opening, but by the second week its collections began to fall. The oh-so-hot couple of Hrithik Roshan and gorgeous Barbara Mori, with their hot scenes, couldn't do much to salvage the movie.Pyaar Impossible!, starring Uday Chopra, Priyanka Chopra, made a mere Rs 5 crore at the box office and was declared a flop. The film was criticised the world over.Lamhaa is a Rahul Dholakia movie based on the turmoil and turbulence that is prevalent in Kashmir. A lot was expected from the film which had Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha Basu and Kunal Kapoor, but the movie failed to impress the audience.Milenge Milenge was being promoted as the coming together of ex-lovers Shahid and Kareena. The movie took five long years to complete and as expected failed to impress the audience.Rann focussed on the nexus between Indian media and politics. Despite having an impressive star cast in Amitabh Bachchan and Ritesh Deshmukh, the film bombed at the box office.Chance Pe Dance showed off Shahid Kapoor's dancing skills, supported by Genelia D'Souza. Unfortunately, the movie couldn't be saved from the clutches of being a flop.Vivek Oberoi starrer, Prince - It's Showtime was a declared flop at the box-office. The over-the-top movie, failed to deliver.Released in January 2010, Dulha Mil Gaya was one of the first Bollywood releases of the year. The film starring Sushmita Sen and Fardeen Khan, had a poor opening despite having been marketed as an SRK film. The film was deemed as a flop collecting only Rs 3 crore at the box-office.
